BOARD DIRECTOR

Partnered with the executive team of Social Innovation Exchange (SIX) to evolve strategy during the COVID-19 pandemic at a London-based organization that advances and connects social innovation leaders’ impact around the globe with a focus on Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.


BOARD DIRECTOR, Audit Committee Chair

Sat on the board of a foundation that owns the majority economic interest in a community development financial institution (CDFI) bank. Balanced financial and impact outcomes in complex ownership structure.

  • Partnered with the executive team to update the strategic plan and growth strategy, including the transition to a new Executive Director.

  • Chaired Audit Committee from 2019 to 2022. Guided organization through Board transition when the Board Chair Tom Steyer resigned to run for U.S. President. Led negotiations and resolution for bank capital contribution during COVID-19


BOARD Member

Led full transformation of board structure for Tides organizations (4 entities - Foundation, Center, TINC, TTRF) while serving as CEO. Sat on Executive, Financial Capital, External Relations, and Human Capital Committees. Chaired the boards of Tides affiliates.

  • Established and implemented board term limits to reenergize the organization. Partnered with board members to plan 3-year transition period, rotating long-term members off the board.

  • Sourced, recruited, and onboarded diverse and high-quality board talent. Increased diversity representation among board members to 50% people of color and 42% women.

  • Led board restructuring that rebuilt Tides Network industry reputation and turned around declining growth.

A global movement, Pledge 1% inspires and empowers entrepreneurs, employees, and stakeholders to invest in purpose. More than 18,000 members in 100 countries have implemented Pledge’s flexible framework to ignite a billion dollars in new philanthropy.


Board Chair

Tides Advocacy identifies, connects, and fuels movements for social justice and the health of our democracy. Founded in 1997, the organization leverages its extensive network and design solutions to make advocacy accessible to social change innovators in all sectors.


Social Finance, Inc. — GivingSphere

A start-up eCommerce fundraising platform launched in 2013 that revolutionized the intersection of online shopping and philanthropy. This disruptive technology leveraged the growing trend of online retail to benefit nonprofit organizations. The platform redirected a portion of online shopping rewards to charities, introducing the concept of “Lifestyle Fundraising.”
